February
2009 - Holy Cow! Has
this page not been updated in a while! Well, in 2008, Pete took some
time off to work with Cactus and Vanilla Fudge, both as a bass player
and a tour manager so Dave is doing a lot of gigs solo now. Ron is
also playing bass for Electric Pulse. But Pete and Dave are getting
their feet wet together again as the duo and rocked the South Shore
Grill on February 7th at their show together in 6 months. Stay tuned....
October
2007 - Losses and Gains... In
2005, we lost Hennesseys as they closed for renovations. However, as
of August 2007, we're back in the traditional "1st Saturday"
lineup and we hope forever! Earlier this year we also lost Smith
Bros. in Ridgewood to a tragic fire (fortunately it was in the middle
of the night and no one was hurt), but they expect to reopen and we
hope to be back there in the near future. God speed to Smith Bros. in
reopening! Finally, we've also had our last gig at the Thirsty Turtle
in Bernardsville. After a seven year run we've had there, The
"Turtle" lost their lease and will be closing October 14th.
They will be trying to find a new home however. Our sincere thanks to
Matt, the manager, for his continued support all these years. Please
stay in touch, and we hope to visit you for a drink on the 14th!
April
2006 - MORE New Clubs! The
band has just booked the Wearhouse Grill in Lake Hopatcong for a
regular rotation. Mark your calendars for the first Friday of every
month starting in July! Pulse DK is now expanding into Orange County,
NY too with the addtion of Rhodes North on Rt. 17 in Sloatsburg
starting in August! And it looks like Bobby "Boom Boom" is
now the group's regular drummer. He's as good a booking agent as he
is a drummer! :-) And the family gets even larger....
January
2006 - New Clubs! The
band has added many new clubs to the schedule last year, Bernie's,
The Breezy, Wearhouse, Calalloo Cafe', The Muse, just to name some.
2006 promises to be a great year for the band! Please, if you haven't
already, go back to the main page, scroll down and join our email
list from Yahoo. We will NOT divulge your email address and will only
email you once a week. Come and join the fun! Rock & Roll!
October
2005 - Anniversary Party was a blast! So
many great players and friends attended the Pulse DK 10th
anniversary party at Jiggs' Corner in Butler, NJ. As soon as we get
some photos, we'll put them up with all the names.
July
2005 - The Family grows larger... It
seems that good drummers are just hard to get as they are in extreme
demand. So now we have a stable of them to choose from. Jeez these
guys are busy! Ron is still with us, but recently both were
unavailable... so, welcome...
|
Mark
Papianni - Mark has joined us on a number of gigs now, so that
makes him part of the "Family Pulse" too. We met Mark at
one of Dave's Open Mics at the ol' Trap, and we were very impressed.
Look for more of Mark with us in the future. |

March
2005 - The Family grows.... - This
year marks the Tenth Anniversary of Pulse D.K. and a gala
celebration is planned in September! Stay tuned for more details, but
mark your calendars for September 23rd, and plan to be at Jiggs'
Corner! As it stands, 13 musicians, our "family", have
performed paid gigs with Pulse D.K., can you believe it?
January
2005 - PulseDK.com.... Photo Gallery... - The
band is starting out 2005 in full swing. January and February are
booked solid, and new gigs are coming in all the time. We're glad to
be back at the Laughing Lion in Dover, NJ after a hiatus. Pete has
promised to finally order the long awaited Pulse D.K. T-shirts, which
will be available here at the site. Also, you can now access this
site via our own domain name, www.PulseDK.com!!! We will still be at
the RockersUSA.com address too, so you if you have us bookmarked, you
don't need to change it. Stay tuned for big things this year! Also,
check out the Pulse D.K. Photo Gallery, a new feature here at the
site. We'll add photos all the time.
August
2004 - This
month, the PULSE DK website has been up five years! Wow, does time
fly. Pete and Dave think they have been working together now about 6
or 7 years, but the effects of age seem to blur it a little.... or is
it the beer? Oh well, at least we know the web site has been up since
August 8, 1999, and PULSE DK is stronger than ever! Perhaps it is
time to say special thanks to all the clubs who have made us monthly
regulars all these years such as Jiggs', Rupperts, Hennesseys, The
Mouse Trap and the Thirsty Turtle. We'd also like to thank the clubs
that are quickly making us regulars too, such as The Thirsty Moose
and Durkins! Most of all, Pete, Dave, Sharon and Ron want to thank
YOU, our fans, who have made it possible to become regulars at these
great clubs!
July
2004 - Pete's on tour again - Next
month, Ron Zito will fill in on bass for Pete (thanks Ron!) as
Pete's going on the road again for a short northeast tour with singer/songwriter
Essra Mohawk. Essra has a large catalog of her own albums and CDs as
well as numerous collaborations. She worked with Jerry Garcia in the
80's and Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention in the 60's. She
wrote Cyndi Lauper's hit Change of Heart among other songs recorded
by other artists. In our area, Pete will be with Essra at The Bitter
End in the Village on Wednesday, August 18th, and John and Peter's
Place in New Hope, PA on August 20th. Now can you make it from New
Hope, PA to Jiggs' Corner in about an hour? :-)
June
2004 - Dave reunited with Pulse DK namesake - On
June 26, Dave will reunite with his old bandmates for a "Dirt
Club" reunion of Dan Kidney and the Pulsations. They've been
rehearsing for a while and the show should be fantastic! (I always
wondered why Dave's license plate was "DK Pulse", not
"Pulse DK"... :-). Anyway, check them out at....

is going to have Scotty beam him from the Smith Bros. in Ridgewood.
Ron Zito will save the day and do the last set with Pete.
April
2004 - BAD NEWS/GOOD NEWS DEPT. - The
bad and sad news is, that our very good friend and fellow musician
Dave Lazar was involved in a serious motorcycle accident in New York
that left him hospitalized with a severe leg injury. The good news is
that he is mending, albeit slowly, and at least he can still play
guitar! And, his mouth still works so he can still break our chops.
Seriously, God bless Dave, and we hope you continue to mend, but much
faster!!!! Buying or selling a home? ;-)
Last
month, Dave (Kraemer) dug deep in his pockets and purchased the band
a new PA system, a new Bose "stick". It has taken some time
for us to get used to the new technology, but fans report that they
hear a much more even sound thoughout every venue we've played so
far. Come check us out!
Dave's
open mic at the Mouse Trap in Rochelle Park just gets more and more
popular. You've got to go check it out on Thursday nights starting at
9:00pm !
September
2003 - Okay,
summer's over. Time to forget the beach and get serious about
Rockin' with Pulse DK! Lot's of stuff happening.... We're booking
faster than ever, and many thanks to Hennesseys and The Thirsty
Turtle for making the "PULSE" monthly regulars way out into
2004! Initial gigs at the Side Door in Pompton Lakes and at the
Thirsty Moose in Lake Hopatcong went great. We're already booked out
for the rest of the year at the Thirsty Moose. We're talking with the
Side Door too. Gee... a lot of thirsty animals in NJ, huh?
June
2003 -
The summer is usually a little slow for rock clubs in North Jersey as
everyone heads to the shore. Fortunately though, the guys are happy
they've added THREE new clubs to the line up, The Thirsty Moose in
Lake Hopatacong, The Blue Coyote also in Lake Hopatcong, and The Side
Door in Pompton Lakes. Be sue to come out and see the guys. The Side
Door will be a trio gig with Ron Zito on drums!
Also,
Pete wants to spend the bands money. Coming soon... Pulse DK
T-shirts! Stay tuned....
April
2003 - Has
three months gone by already? Wow! The Jiggs' Corner Open Mic may be
over, but Dave is now in his third year hosting the Open Mic at the
Mouse Trap in Rochelle Park on Thursday nights, and it is going very
strong! "Electric" Pulse DK, featuring Ron Zito on drums
and vocals is gaining popularity too, as more and more electric gigs
are happening. The band is happy that they have had regular monthly
gigs at Hennesseys in Morristown for over three years running, and
Rupperts in Riverdale for almost five years! Last month, the band
picked up a new club in Ogdensburg, NJ called the Iron Rail Saloon.
This is new territory, Sussex County, for Pulse DK. They've played
two gigs sat the Iron Rail so far, and the next is on Friday, May 30th.
Finally,
we're sad to report that Chris Hopp suffered a severe shoulder
injury recently, and may require surgery. Ron Zito has taken over the
kit in his absence and is doing a tremendous job!
December
2002 - We are very sad to report that the Open Mic at Jiggs'
Corner in Butler is ending. It is one of the longest running open
mics in the state of New Jersey. December 27th will be the last one.
Dave and Kenny started hosting it in 1997, and Pete hosted it on
opposite Fridays with Jeff Guenther and Ron Zito before joining Dave.
Who knows, though. Maybe Dave and Pete will start a new one
somewhere. We'll let you know! In the meantime, they will still play
at Jiggs' as a regular band gig.
Site
news- We've added the Pulse DK song list. Check it!
Dave
and Pete want to wish everyone a very happy holiday season, with
hopes for a brighter future for us all in 2003. Happy Holidays!!!
October
2002 - Finally we have our song list up! We invite you to check
it out. Let us know if there's something missing you'd like to hear!
We've added two new clubs this month; Larison's in Chester, New
Jersey and Smith Bros. (no coughing, please!) in Ridgewood! Both are
fine places, please join us there for a great night of Rock &
Roll! Check the Schedule!
September
2002 - Dave
and Pete are getting "studio itchy". Many people have been
asking for a CD, and they're putting together some tunes now to
record in the near future. Also, they're booking more and more new
clubs such as Larisons in Chester, NJ, and the Smith Bros. in
Ridgewood, NJ. As always, keep checking the schedule, or better yet
sign up for the email list! We'll let you know where 'the pulse' will be!
February
2002 - Keep
checking our schedule as we're booking more and more. The word is
spreading! This past Saturday, February 9th, we played a surprise
birthday party for friends of Dave and Sharon at Portobello
Restaurant in Oakland. Sharon Kraemer joined us on vocals and regular
drummer Chris Hopp also added his talent to the show. Everyone had a
great time and enjoyed the music.
We
keep adding to our song list too- recently adding songs by The Who,
The Moody Blues and yes- The Troggs!
Also,
we hope you like the new "look" at the site!
December
2001 - Pulse DK has picked up a new club, The Laughing Lion
in Dover! Pulse fans out in Morris County have a new club to see us
in! Check the schedule for upcoming dates and the address. Come for
dinner! They have GREAT food!
June
2001 - The truth is out. Dave has a secret life, by night, mild
mannered singer/guitarist. By day....

The
Man From U.N.C.L.E. (United Network Command for Longhaired Entertainers)
"Okay
gentlemen, we have a problem. Pete wants one bass solo for every
four songs instead of five. What can we do about that?"
"First
of all, my name is Napolean Solo, not Bass Solo!"
"Shudup
Napoleon, I like bass solosss!"
"What
Illya? Mr. Waverly!!!!"
"Well,
Mr. Kraemer, that is a problem now, isn't it. Let me get this
straight. You're on guitar. Who's on bass?"
"I
Don't Know."
"He's
on Drums. Pete's on Bass."
"What's
on Drums? Pete's on third base?"
"No,
six string bass. What's on keyboards, I Don't Know's on drums!"
"Aw,
Jeez. Somebody call THRUSH!"
August
2000 - Last fall, Pete took a sabbatical from the Jiggs's Corner
Open Mic, but he's back! Come out to Jiggs's and jam with us, or just
listen and have some fun with Open Mic night! We've added the Thirsty
Turtle on Rt. 202 in Bernarsdville to our list of monthly regular
clubs. We're settling in their as we work out with the club a monthly
schedule. You "908'ers" come to the Thirsty Turtle for some
great food, drink and music!
Thanks
for visiting the 'rockin' duo' ! Seeya soon!
