Yo Timmy. I
worked with you and Cactus at electric

1973. I was closest to Rusty but used to hang with all of you. I
suppose you don't remember who I am but I am sure glad I got to be
close to you guys. I was the guy passing around the little hash pipe
backstage at the garden when you opened for The Faces w/Rod. Rock On.!!! |

mr. bogert, how
does one explain your ability to make fretboard insanity sound
amazing? how is it that you rock so and still provide inspiration to
new bands? some questions are meant to go unanswerred. keep the rock alive.

Tim, First got
exposed to your music while sitting on my front porch in Ridgefield,
N.J. I grew up on Shaler Blvd. across from your house. My two biggest
memories of you then are the Ed Sullivan Show and when came back to
town to visit your parents on a brand new Harley. You took the time
to speak to the kids in the neighborhood. I got an autograph. Sorry
to hear of the passing of your mother. She was a wonderful person.
She always kept me current on what you were doing. She was very hip
when speaking about sessions with Rod Stuart. Enough with the past,
lots of luck with all current and future projects. |

Hey Tim,
When I was a 19
year old "Tim Bogert bass wannabe" playing in a little rock
quartet in St. Louis, MO in 1970 , I drove down saw you and the Fudge
in concert at University of Arkansas fieldhouse (Razorback
Stadium)and was blown away! You had been "hammering" bass
strings long before the "Seinfeld" sound...still amazed at
how fast you could rip off bass lines in "Break
Song"...you're the best, Tim! Do us old Fudge freaks a favor and
get the VF back on tour again! You would absolutly blow away all
these young 2000 rockers who think they're so original... Best
always, Greg |

comments left by a fan that saw you perform with Cactus in'71 in

Tim - When I was
a 14 yr old in Scotland in 1967, my friend gave me "You Keep Me
Hanging On" in a record swap. I didn't really know Vanilla Fudge
then, but that song really did it for me. I loved that song so much.
I STILL love THAT SONG - THAT BASS ! But, stupidly, I later gave the
record to a girl I REALLY fancied and I never saw it again ! I still
look out for the song in record shops even yet. But, I guess it just
keeps me hanging on ! ...... Best regards |

Tim, I recently
purchased a bass guitar from a guitar show in the Chicago area. The
bass is a Precision Bass body, P J pick-up configuration, stacked
knobs and blonde finish. The neck is an old Telecaster Bass neck. It
looks exactly like the one you played in Vanilla Fudge. I know this
is a longshot, but I was wondering if you still had that particular
guitar, or perhaps you sold it or it was stolen from you. It just
seems strange that this guitar looks exactly like yours. |

Hi Tim,
I've been a big
fan of yours since the Fudge days. I just recently discovered your
web site. When I saw it for the first time, BOY did it take me back!
When I was a kid, I used to plunk around on a Fender Precision in my
local neighborhood bands, trying to pick out your solo riffs. As a
naive kid, I used to think I could imitate some of your solos pretty
well. Then, I saw you live in Memphis, TN at a Cactus concert. Your
playing simply BLEW ME AWAY! I couldn't believe how good you were.
Then, I heard you in BBA with your unbelievable vocal range sung
simultaneously with your complicated bass lines, which to this day,
leaves my jaw dropping. As for me, I quit playing and studied
engineering! Anyway, I would like to thank you for what you have
contributed to the electric bass throughout your career. I am
convinced that if it weren't for your pioneering on the front (bass)
lines back in the early days, we would not have have all the great
technical bass players that we have today. I would also like to thank
you for the many years of listening pleasure that you have provided
me with your inventive and powerful playing style. I hope to hear
more great music from you in the future. Take care. I wish you the
best. Your humbled fan, Bob Hall |

How about another
tour? Personally, I've been a fan since 67. Caught you guys most
recently at Westbury Music Fair in 99. (You CAN go home again!) I
couldn't believe how great you guys sounded, and the audience
response should be telling you something too. (Go out on tour!) I
also think you are about the best, most innovative, bass player I
ever saw. I loved the Fudge, I loved Cactus (what's Jim McCarty up to
these days?) I loved BBA, and I would have loved to have seen you
play with Leslie West. I remember sharing a beer and a cigarette more
than once with you down in Leone's in the early 70's. You are a TRUE
talent and you should be out there! Best of luck in all your
endeavors whatever they are. |
