Operation
Nehemiah... Rebuilding the Sudan
- Vince gets involved in helping out persecuted Christians via his
radio show, "Perspectives." Vince and Peg hosted a three
part series on the worldwide persecution of Christians. With the help
of Joe Brennan, original drummer of The Pigeons and now minister for
C.A.R.E., they featured Reverend William Levi, founder and CEO of
Operation Nehemiah Missions in the Sudan. William escaped the Sudan
after the violent and intolerant Muslim regime in power emprisoned
him and tortured him for being a Christian. Millions of others were
not so fortunate... He has since returned to his country to try and
help rebuild his village and help some of the millions of displaced
Christians return to their homeland. Check out William's website, and
find out how you can get involved in stopping the torture and
persecution of Christians in the Sudan and Darfur.

we enjoy in these United States..." Check out The

have lost their way in this world. Check them out, and even get to

Psychedelic
Cymbals... A Tribute to Jimi Hendrix
"It's
something I always wanted to do. Here are some of the reasons I
decided to do this Jimi Hendrix tribute album. In the 1960's, while
touring with Vanilla Fudge, I had the privilege of playing thirteen
dates in a row with the The Jimi Hendrix Experience and with Soft
Machine; it was during this time that I got to know Jimi. One night
in New York City, during one of the regular late-night jams held at
Steve Paul's "Scene" (a happening club in the 60's), Jimi,
who was a mainstay at this club, and I were invited by Eddie Kramer
to The Record Plant to record a jam session with other well-known
musicians at four a.m. Jimi was such a gentleman, that he let me take
the first solo. He told me once that if the Fudge ever broke up to
let him know. This CD is a "thank you" to him for sharing
his creative genius. I am proud to say that I am a U.S. Navy veteran,
just as Jimi was a U.S. Army veteran. He will always have my respect
and gratitude."

Quotes...
"The
album is overall a pleasant novelty of the psychedlic scene that is
entertaining at its best and grating at its worst. I can only
recommend it to those obsessed with chronicling the psychedelic
scene. By the way, Vinny Martell's guitar work is distinctive and commendable."

Before Vanilla
Fudge was Vanilla Fudge, they were The Pigeons. It was Vince, Mark
Stein, Tim Bogert and drummer Joe Brennan(left). After Joe left The
Pigeons, he went on to work with Bonnie Bramlett, The Duprees, The
Younger Brothers, Howell, Johnny Charles Blues Band, and The Red Legs
(a British Band). Joe is also a big part of a ministry touring
prisons in the United States, South America, Israel and Europe. Joe
has been performing with Vince and the band regularly this year,
pictured above at the Annual Bayfest at Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn,
New York.

Vince also
features Tiger Bill Meligari on drums. Bill's amazing chops won him
the title "World's Fastest Hands" at the prestigious annual
National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) show in 2004 in Los
Angeles. Bill also maintains a web site for drummers (www.tigerbill.com)
which has thousands of members in the United States and around the
world. Vince recently performed at Tiger Bill's Halloweein Drumfest
in New Jersey, a benefit for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for
Parkinson's disease. Check
out Tiger Bill's site. |
